Episode 9 - Team Philosophy
In a show of team unity, the entire distance squad goes to the track to cheer on Amos Bartelsmeyer (Volunteer Assistant Coach) as he runs a 1k time trial before leaving to compete for Germany in the 2019 IAAF World Outdoor Championships in Doha, Qatar. Andy Powell (Head Coach, Track and Field / Cross Country) and Chris Kwiatkowski (Assistant Coach, Distances) discuss the teams weekly training logs and the importance of coach/athlete communication. Kwiatkowski shows off Coach Powell’s incredible library of athlete training log archives and provides a look inside olympic gold medalist Matt Centrowitz’s college training log. Maurica Powell (Director of Track and Field and Cross Country) discusses her effort to connect with each athlete on the team, and hopes that every athlete who comes through the program can take lessons with them into life beyond athletics.

Great series to watch and very inspiring to see these student-athletes work hard and embrace the culture. Good luck this season Huskies from a '96 alum! Go Dawgs!
